Today, I think everyone saw how important it is to keep up to date on information covered in the lesson plans. When you come to class, you will be expected to be able to discuss the training objectives. I DON'T KNOW is not an acceptable answer.
I DON'T KNOW translates to I DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO FIND OUT in BLET.
A much better answer would be, Sir, I don't know the answer to that question, but I will research it and answer it later.

Professional email address
Everyone needs to have a professional email address. This is important because you will do a lot of communication by email including communications with people who might want to give you a job.
Would you hire someone for an important job if they sent you email from an address like jollybigboy@idiots.com or sexymama25@stupidpeople.com? I hope not.
Suggestions would be use your first initial and last name. For instance jsmith or even your full name; johndoe@wherever.com. Don't use call signs or handles.
It is easy to set up a free email account. I personally use Google gmail. They have a lot of features that are handy. Go to www.gmail.com to set up an account.
Of course if you have a professional email address already, don't worry about this.
Once you have this, send an email to me at lboyd@martincc.edu.

Welcome to Class 20
Hi everyone,
I just want to say welcome to the class.
I use this blog to send out information from time to time. It is important that you check this daily. Once you have checked it, make a comment that includes your roster number and a short comment like "Read" or "10-4"
I want to reiterate a few things that I spoke about last night.
Ensure that you read the lesson plan for upcoming classes. You may see a test on that on the first day of class.
Never ever give up.
Don't take things personally.
If you are going to be late or absent, call me at 792-1521 ext 267.
Address all persons as Sir or Ma'am. Include these throughout your conversation.
Tests will be on Tuesday nights at 1800 (6 pm). If you are absent, your score is "0".
As I told you last night, everyone in this class is capable of passing. The only limiting factor will be your desire and drive. All you have to do is never ever give up and don't take things personally.
I look forward to working with all of you throughout this class.
